The PML, management Licence is a little more complex than the PFL and states Any individual responsible for any of the key management functions (regardless of their actual job title) must have a PML.

The Cost of a PFL is £185.00 and is renewable every 5 years

To Apply for your own PFL

You can use the same forms to apply for either a personal management licence or a PFL. Apply online by filling out the following forms

As well as your completed application form, you will also need to send in:

• Personal licence photo ID form
• any continuation pages you have used
• proof of identity documents (originals or notorised copies. These will be returned by Recorded or special delivery and will need to be signed for upon receipt)

• copies of any gambling licences not issued in the United Kingdom (UK)
• the licence fee.

We review all the information you include on the application form and we also carry out a check with the Criminal Records Bureau or Scottish Criminal Records Office. If you are an overseas applicant we will ask you to obtain a police certificate from your country of former residence.

If you have a criminal record, this does not mean we will automatically refuse your licence application.  In assessing your application, we will take into account:

• how serious the crime was
• how relevant it is to the role
• how long ago it was committed.

We take a serious view when applicants do not state previous convictions on the application form and will always contact the applicant to ask why this was not declared. We also check details of cautions, reprimands and spent convictions as well as current convictions.
