Southampton Large Licence

All the major operators have thrown in their hat to register interest in the new proposed Southampton Large Licence. The Southampton City Council will begin its discussions  with Rank (Grosvenor Casinos) Aspers and Genting Casinos. It is considered vital to the new multi million pound redevelopment of the Royal Pier area.

Aspers Group are already veterans of the 2005 Large Licence having already obtained 2 of the Large Licence. The first Casino they opened was Aspers Stratford in the Westfield Centre which has now exceeded over 1 Million visitors. The second large licence they obtained was for Milton Keynes and is due to be opened in August 2013 and must put them in a good position to acquire the Southampton Large Licence.

Grosvenor Casinos are close to finalising the Gala acquisition to make them the biggest Casino operator in the UK which will of course bring them a lot of influence and experience to obtain Southampton Large Licence.

Gentings Casino have recently undergone a extensive refurbishment program along with starting the development on the £150 Million Genting Resort in Birmingham and being backed by Genting Berhard also have a great opportunity to get the  Southampton Large Licence.
