ALEA STAFF RAISE CASH FOR CANCER RESEARCH

ALEA STAFF RAISE CASH

Staff from Nottingham’s leading entertainment venue have raised over £500 having taken part in the Nottingham leg of the Race for Life.

Raising cash for Cancer Research, the team of 15 intrepid runners from Alea on Upper Parliament Street laced up their trainers to pound the five kilometre course along the Victoria Embankment.

The team included Jaynee Lydon, Rebecca Deaville, Lauren Swift, Jodi Swift, Lisa Lydon, Lindsey Bolwer, Leighanne Jamieson, Milda Malakauskaite, Adel Gyepes, Lei fun Wan, Csilla Molnar, Debbie Mooney, Alice Pitt, Anette Pelka and Sammy Smith who joined over 5000 other women to raise vital funds for the charity.

Leading the group was Rebecca Deaville who said:

Everyone is affected by cancer at some stage in their life so it’s so important to do what you can.The Race For Life is a great opportunity for us all to come together and do something as a group. Raising money is really important because it will help lead to advancements in treatments to help beat cancer and raise awareness.The atmosphere was fantastic and we all had a great time and would like to thank everyone who donated money towards our efforts.

Money raised by the event will help Cancer Research UK’s doctors, nurses and scientists make advances in research into new drugs and treatments which will help more men, women and children survive cancer.
